Hi,

If we talk only about images, then Phoca Cart supports the following formats: jpg, png, webp, avif.

There is even a function that current images jpg and png are automatically converted to webp.

For all types (jpg, png, webp, avif), you can define quality, so e.g. you can set 100% quality for thumbnails.

Currently - according to many different tests, I recommend using WEBP (AVIF is not yet supported everywhere and its compression is better than WEBP only for very small images and very large compressions - you can see some tests here, I have pasted in Joomla german forum in similar post: https://forum.joomla.de/thread/20069-we ... post146500 ).

When I prepare demo data, then the ZIP package with PNG has cca 12MB and the same package with images with the same quality in WEBP has 3MB, which is really great savings for the same quality).

When it comes to product images, it is one of the most important parts of an e-shop and it is very important that the product photo is of high quality. It depends on the type of images, but most of the product photos should have transparent background and this is where WEBP format helps us again, which can have a very high quality transparent image with very small size, for example:
